New Vintage Icon Series guitars!
The Vintage Icon Series guitars are great guitars that offer fantastic value for money, and now they’ve just released two new “old” models, including a faithful replica of Eric Clapton’s “The Fool” SG guitar. The V6 Icon Series Distressed Boulevard Black is yeat another great aged strat-style guitar from Viintage, a welcome addition to the red, blue, white and sunburst models which were already released this series. These fantastic guitars, fully equipped with equally aged Wilkinson tuners, hardware and pickups look like they’ve been played for decades with all the marks, wear and tear to prove it. They’ve been through the mill but they’re cool and ready for the next gig. “Aged” new guitars are becoming a strong trend now, thanks not only to Vintage (who make some of the best value-for-money guitars right now) but also Fender and Gibson, who also make some fantastic Custom Shop models (such as the Joe Strummer Telecaster, Andy Summers Telecaster

Vintage VS6 ICON Series “Fool” Handmade Psychedelic Finish
This is one of the most expensive guitars Vintage has ever made. And for a good reason! Each hand made Vintage® Icon Series™“Fool” guitar is a true, ‘one of a kind’ instrument, with unique artwork exquisitely and individually hand painted, in oils, in a faithful re-creation of the iconic guitar from1967, based upon artwork commissioned by the late George Harrison of The Beatles, for the giant, world famous, mural painted on the wall of London’s famous Beatles-owned Apple Boutique by the Dutch art collective, known as “The Fool”.
The art collective went on to re-create the vibe of the Apple Boutique mural, in miniature, on one of George Harrison’s guitars, which Harrison had given to his friend Eric Clapton.
The guitar has come to be known as “The Fool” after its creators. The original guitar was used almost constantly by Eric Clapton in Cream (view photo), both live and in the recording sessions of their classic albums “Disraeli Gears” and “Wheels Of Fire”. The Foold SG eventually ended up in the hands of legendaryUS performer, Todd Rundgren.
“The Fool” is one of the most instantly recognisable guitars in the world. Paying homage to an earlier era of psychedelia, and some truly exceptional, all time classic guitar sounds, the Vintage® Icon series™ “VS6 Fool” is memorabilia brought to life, an exciting salute to a time of unrestrained artistic interaction, and creative freedom in pop art and rock music. This is possibly the best Vintage guitar ever, and retails at £799. Dolphin Music price is £639 – you save £160!!!
Here’s a video we found on You Tube, of Cream performing “Tales Of Brave Ulysses”. You can see Eric Clapton playing the original “Fool” SG. WATCH VIDEO

We’re curious to hear some comments on it as well!
Though, the other Icon Series Vintage guitars are usually much better than the price tag may suggest, and the normal Vintage SG Copy guitars got some great reviews (harmony central: http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews/Guitar/product/Vintage/VS6+SG+Copy/10/1 )
