Chad Smith and Chickenfoot hit London in June

Chickenfoot the new rock supergroup comprised of Red Hot Chili Pepper’s drummer Chad Smith, bassist  (ex-Van Halen), guitarist Joe Satriani and vocalist Sammy Hagar (ex-Van Halen), today announced the global release of their self-titled debut album. The album will be released in the UK on Monday 8 June.

I have to say this bunch look like a whole lotta of fun.

The album, coincides with a European tour that will consist of outdoor festivals, including Montreaux, Switzerland, and Bospop, Holland, plus various intimate indoor rock shows including the London O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on 25 June.

Tickets for the London concert go on sale at 9am on Friday 27 March.  This will be Chickenfoot’s only UK date on the European tour.

“I just said to myself that I’m not going to put up with it any more,” he said. “I wouldn’t call myself a demanding guitarist, but I do know what I want and, all credit to Vox, they have been with me the whole way, taking my ideas on board and adding some of their own. The result is a collection of effects that do exactly what I want.”
