Led Zeppelin Reunion: Are They Really Working On New Material?

Drummer Jason Bonham has sensationally revealed, on a radio show, that he’s been working on new material with Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones!

If this is the beginning of a new Led Zeppelin album, no one knows yet – Robert Plant is not involved so far, and according to Bonham, “lots of politics” need to get “ironed out” before an album is made. As long as Fiona Lewis is not involved, we’ll be happy.

“I’ve been working with Jimmy and John Paul and trying some new material,” he said. “I don’t know what it will be, but it will be something. At the moment, all I know is I have the great pleasure to go and jam with the two guys and start work on some material.”

On another Led Zep note: the official Led Zeppelin website has announced the release of two special edition vinyl releases: the live album The Song Remains The Same (with extra tracks!) and the compilation Mothership. Really cool stuff…

Led Zeppelin new album. Sounds promising? What do you think? Could we really expect a new Led Zeppelin album, and perhaps a tour, in the not-so-distant future? Post a comment here and have your say!

  1. A rumored tour is one thing, but a new album?!
If it is true, the album will either be great or just plain awful. I can’t wait to hear it if and when it’s released!!

  2. Do you mean Leona Lewis?

  3. Led Zeppelin (all five of them) had the ability to create such mystery around thier activities that they became legendary for that in thier own right. I saw this band with John (R.I.P.) three times on thier last three outings and both live performances and albums were prefaced with massive fever pitch speculation. No one knows how to get the rock world media revved up with rumour quite like Led Zeppelin. I’m enjoying it all over again. I’d forgotten what showmanship really means. I’m glad they can still set the worlds music press on fire. Can’t wait for it, whatever IT turns out to be. You have to be a dedicated fan ( and probably knocking on a bit) to really understand what’s going on. I am and I do.
